iPhone User Agents and Analytics

If you are interested in analyzing how many visitors are viewing your website using the Apple iPhone then you might want to check for the following user agents in your logs. This is a sample provided by a comment left on Matt Cutts’ recent post on “iPhone user agent.”

Michael Jensen of SoloSEO has also provided an excellent tip on how to pinpoint iPhone referrals using Google Analytics.


“So to check for iPhone visitors, open up Google Analytics, go to Visitors, then to Browser Capabilities, then to Screen Resolution. Look for 320 x 396. You may be asking (if you are a crazy iPhone maniac like me) why not 320 x 480? The viewable area of the browser goes down to 396 in height with the address bar area, etc.”
