FatWire Software today announced general availability of the Microsoft SharePoint™ Connector for the FatWire Content Integration Platform. The FatWire Content Integration Platform enables FatWire Content Server customers to easily access content stored across different enterprise systems and publish it on the web. With this new release, content stored in SharePoint servers and on the EMC Documentum platform (also generally available today) can now be accessed by web teams for use online.
In order to be successful, organizations must be able to use the web to engage customers and prospects with rich, current, and compelling content. However, in many organizations, content is locked in disparate siloed repositories, with no easy means of accessing them.
The FatWire Content Integration Platform solves this problem by providing web-services-based, peer-to-peer content sharing capabilities that give FatWire Content Server users access to content stored across the enterprise. With the SharePoint Connector for the Content Integration Platform, FatWire Content Server users can access content stored in SharePoint without ever leaving the Content Server interface, and publish it to their public sites, intranets and extranets.
In addition to today’s announcement, the FatWire Content Integration Platform also offers connectors for Windows and Unix file systems. It supports a long list of content types such as documents, audio, video, images, and more.
“Now more than ever, companies need access to their resources across the enterprise and simplify the process of managing the web," said Paul Maiorana, director of technology and production for Mansueto Ventures LLC. "FatWire is one of the leading platforms for connecting customers online to enable them to offer more relevant content and resources. With this new offering, FatWire continues to innovate to make the job of web teams easier."
“Content integration is becoming increasingly critical to success with the web as enterprises become more dispersed and content grows more distributed," said Christoph Schacher, head of new media at Wienerberger AG, the world's largest manufacturer of bricks and clay roof tiles. "We are pleased to see FatWire taking a leading position on solving one of the most pressing challenges faced by web managers and marketing organizations today."
"Offering a compelling web experience to site visitors is not an easy task," said Yogesh Gupta, chief executive officer, FatWire Software. "FatWire offers Web Experience Management solutions that helps customers make the process as seamless and efficient as possible. By putting rich media, documents and other enterprise content at their fingertips, customers can tap into a much greater set of resources to drive their success online."
