Switch to Gmail - Import Your Contacts from Other Providers

The Gmail blog has announced that it's even easier to make the switch to Gmail since Google has introduced the ability to seamlessly import your contacts from numerous email providers (including Yahoo Mail and Hotmail).


This new feature is available in all newly-created Gmail accounts, and it is slowly being rolled out to all existing accounts. It'll take longer than the few hours or days that most Gmail features take to get out to everyone. You'll know it's on for your account when you see the Accounts and Import tab (formerly just called Accounts) under Settings.

Here are all the different types of email services which you can import contacts from:

    All very well, but what about importing contacts from standalone email clients - Thunderbird, for instance?
