Cool infographic designed by the Cloud Hypermarket team which shows some interesting stats about cloud computing, such as adoption, IT budgeting, benefits of using the cloud, and the top users of cloud computing. Check out the full graphic below, here are some highlights:
- By 2013, 60% of the the server workloads will be virtualized
- There are 50 million physical servers in the world today
- 56% of Internet users use web mail: Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc…
- 34% of users store photos online
- 29% use applications such as Google docs
- 7% store private videos online
- 5% pay to store computer files online
- 5% backup their hard drive to an online site
Great article and research, but what a pity Russia never included into such studies and I haven't met such studies made in Russia yet, that makes me sad. My country has its "own Google" called Yandex(yandex.com), about 30% Internet users,world IT-leaders have a considerable market share and etc. It's hard for me to explain my confidence in why Russia shouldn't be ignored, but if You think opposite, please answer why.
