Online Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, SEO Specialist, SEO Consultant, SEO Manager, Information Security, Affiliate Manager, Social Media Manager, Web Analytics, Web Developer and Web Designer.
Information Security related jobs continue to show a strong upward trend in salaries on offer. Maybe this is not surprising when you consider recent headlines over corporate and government data loss! It’s not all about technology either, the law is becoming increasingly complex in this area and all operating coutries and geographies must also be considered.
(See the links at the top of this post – they will take you to more detailed graphics and analysis by individual job title.
The data used to calculate the averages was collected from actual jobs as advertised by employers and agencies in the respective months – follow the links for more information on how we gather and collate data.)

To be honest I wasn’t surprised by such data, especially about the fact that profession that deals with information security is developing more and more. and average salary is growing
With the changing economy, information has become some organisation’s primary asset. Therefore they would pay competitively to safeguard that, which they should because it is the lifeline of the whole organisation. This explains the salary increase for information security jobs. Great information!
I find the SEO figures a bit surprising – I’m seeing senior SEO positions for £60k upwards and over £100k when it’s for a global brand with multi-site responsibility.
Also surprising to see the web analytics trending down when investment in this area is up – is this a sign that people are employing more junior level analysts to get more analysis work done and less reliance on tech?
Thanks
james
Hi James. You are right, there are of course jobs at that higher end its just that we haven’t found them to be statistically very significant in terms of numbers compared to the distribution and therefore don’t appear on our graphs. http://www.webanalyticsworld.net/jobs/online-marketing-jobs-uk/average-web-job-salaries-uk/seo-salaries-uk
It may also be that we have discounted some of these higher paid positions if they were not advertised as full time salaried positions ( ie we don’t take short term contract and day rates and calculate an annual salary from them).
Regards analytics, it will be interesting to see where this trend line on average salaries goes next however there is a fairly “flat top” to the distribution of salaries which I think proves there is a wide range of experience , respoonsibility and pay levels out there http://www.webanalyticsworld.net/jobs/online-marketing-jobs-uk/average-web-job-salaries-uk/web-analytics-salaries-uk Thanks very much for your comments DG
