Bing Up 5% in December, Google Down 1%


Hitwise has released their search market share numbers for the month of December 2010, highlights from their press release below:

  • Bing-powered search received 25.77 percent of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 15.17 percent and 10.60 percent, respectively.
  • Google accounted for 69.67 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Jan. 1, 2011.
  • Bing and Yahoo! Search achieved the highest success rates in December 2010, meaning that for both search engines, 81 percent of searches executed resulted in a visit to a Website.

Bing Powered Search Receives 25.3% of All Searches in November

November 2010 Search Engine Quick Stats:

  • Bing-powered search received 25.27% of all searches.
  • Google receives 70% of all searches
  • 81% of searches executed from Yahoo! Search & Bing resulted in a visit to a Website, receiving the the highest success rate across search engines.
  • Amazon is the top 500 retail site receiving paid search traffic, capturing 7.98% for the four weeks ending Nov. 27

Bing Up 7% From May, Google Down 1%

Hitwise announced today that Google accounted for 71.65 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending June 26, 2010. Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask received 14.37 percent, 9.85 percent and 2.19 percent, respectively. The remaining 70 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.94 percent of U.S. searches.

Bing Gains 5% Share in January 2010

Hitwise announced today that Google accounted for 71.49 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Jan. 31, 2010. Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask.com received 14.57 percent, 9.37 percent and 2.64 percent, respectively. The remaining 65 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.93 percent of U.S. searches.

Google Accounts for 67.3% of Searches in December

Nielsen has released it’s monthly search share report for December 2009. Of the 9.9 billion searches conducted in the US, Google accounted for 67.3%, Yahoo: 14.4% and Bing: 9.9%. There was an estimated 6.7 billion searches conducted on Google alone.

Yahoo and Bing Down in November, Google Up

Hitwise announced today that Google accounted for 71.57 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Nov. 28, 2009. Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask.com received 15.39 percent, 9.34 percent and 2.65 percent, respectively. The remaining 52 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.07 percent of U.S. searches.

Bing Down 5%, Google & Ask Up – Hitwise

Hitwise announced today that Google accounted for 71.08 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Oct. 3, 2009. Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask.com received 16.38 percent, 8.96 percent and 2.56 percent, respectively. The remaining 52 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.04 percent of U.S. searches.
