Web Designers, at the more senior end of the scale, increasingly need to look beyond the aesthetic appeal of the properties they design. Increasingly, designers need to be aware of the capabilities of technology and marketing as well as the very high levels of usability and functionality being demanded by clients and users alike.
Designers have always needed the ability to take a brief and present it back however the need to engage in effective communication with their peer group and fellow professionals in the extended team and supplier base is essential. A good awareness of the needs of technical, marketing, communications, legal and line management etc is therefore important especially at higher salary levels.
