Introduction Tutorial to Website Visitor Engagement
When looking at the engagement journey, we provide non-technical feedback on your website from the perspective of an end user. The initial objective is to highlight any design or navigational issues but also to look at the website experience your site provides for your target audience/markets.
The initial check is on your site’s structure, design and navigation and then we would provide feedback on your site from the perspective of different visitor personas.
The exact nature of these personas would depend on your online business objectives but typically these are based on the target markets you have identified for your products and services and the key decision makers that your site is designed to speak to. You may have multiple target audiences, clients from different sectors for example or potential future employees; so we would consider each of the identified personas as we walk through your site.
While this is predominately a non-technical view of the website experience we can also look into your website’s analytics to gain more information on how your website visitors are behaving within certain sections and pages of your website.
An example is shown in the video with In-Page Analytics showing key data on click-through rates on specific elements of the Web Analytics World site.
We can use data like this to identify key areas of interest within websites or key content which is not being accessed properly perhaps due to the position on page or difficulties in navigation.
